Effective date: October 19, 2026

Quill & Code (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a design and development studio based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit quillandcode.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy covers the Site only. It does not cover client websites we design or maintain; each of those has its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you email us or fill out a form on the Site (for example, an event RSVP or sign-up form), we collect what you choose to provide. That is usually your name, email address, and the content of your message or form entry.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web server records basic technical data when you visit. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the referring site, and the date and time of your visit.

Cookies. The Site runs on WordPress, which may set cookies needed for the Site to work, such as remembering form entries or login sessions for site administrators. See “Cookies and third-party services” below.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as payment details, government ID numbers, or health information through the Site.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and communicate about projects
  • Manage event sign-ups and RSVPs you submit
  • Keep the Site running, secure, and free of spam or abuse
  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

When we share information

We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site, such as our web host and email provider. They may process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
  • Legal requirements, when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers, if Quill & Code is involved in a merger, sale, or similar transaction.

Cookies and third-party services

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site, such as forms, may not work correctly without them.

The Site uses these third-party services:

  • Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and how long visits last. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as your IP address, browser, and device information. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis.

Google’s use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

The Site links to client and partner websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as it is useful for the purpose it was collected, for our business and tax records, or as required by law. Form submissions and correspondence may be kept indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them. To request deletion, see “Your choices” below.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS and up-to-date software. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
